Wayne County Outlook 23 May 1946 In memory of my dear Aunt Alice Dishman Dyer who departed this life one month ago today at her home in Albany. Aunt Alice was born December 20, 1860 and died April 17, 1946. She was married to Mr. James Brownlow Dyer, December 26, 1878 and to this union eight children were born. Her husband, one daughter and one son preceded her in death. The six surviving children are: T. H. Dyer, J. F. Dyer, Mrs. J. H. Guthrie, Mrs. Ada Wray and Mrs. Elsie Higginbotham of Albany, and one son, Dr O. L. Dyer, Burnside. Also there are 21 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Marion Upchurch, Byrdstown, Tenn., and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn their loss. Aunt Alice was such a dear sweet woman and has meant so much to us that we are deeply grieved at her passing, but we know that Heaven has gained another dear soul. Words cannot express our feeling for Aunt Alice. She was so good and kind to everyone. She will be sadly missed by her family. But if we have the faith and trust in God that she had, we will meet her in Heaven. Funeral services were held Thursday, April 18, at the Albany Methodist Church by her grandson, Rev. J. P. Booher, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Albany cemetery to await the Resurrection.
