Bio

David married Mary Ann Martin in 1948-Arkansas He was the son of David and Joyce Weakes. He graduated from the University of Arkansas. He served in WWII in the Battle of the Buldge, excaped from a POW camp and was awarded the Purple Heart. He started his career as manager of the Sears Farm Store in Memphis in the 1950's. He was promoted to merchandise manager, then moved to Atlanta as a merchandise buyer and retired from Sears after 40 years of service. He then moved to Panama City Beach were he owned and managed retal condos, then retired and moved to Orlando until the death of his wife. He then moved back to Memphis to be with his children. He is survived by his children, Davey Weakes, Selinda Bradley, Vallie Saliba, Glynn Weakers; 3 grandchildren all of Memphis; sister Esther Kincaid of McKinney. He was preceeded in death by his parents, wife, Christine Clark Weakes.
