(Ref: CARLSBAD CURRENT-ARGUS, Carlsbad, Eddy County, New Mexico, dated for February 14, 1980 and February 15, 1980, reads as follows: LEE DAVIS Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the West Funeral Home chapel for Lee Davis, 401 Glendale St., a retired rancher who died Sunday in a Carlsbad hospital. Past Exalted Rulers of Elks Lodge 1558 will officiate at the service with Elks Lodge members serving as pall bearers. Burial will be in Carlsbad Cemetery. Davis moved to Carlsbad in 1930, left in 1945, returned here in 1950, moved to Arizona in 1958, and then returned here in 1977. Survivors include his wife, June Davis, Carlsbad; two sons, Donald Lee Davis, Missouri City, Texas, and Larry Gene Davis, Jacksonville, Fla.; seven sisters, Eula Stribling, Santa Clara, Calif., Donnie Chestnut, Sacramento, Calif., Ela Bynum, Artesia, Marie Crawford, Fort Worth, Texas, Maybelle Smith, Overton, Texas, and Frankie Griggs and Ada Belle Allford, both of Texas; and six grandchildren. Lee Davis The names of two brothers of Lee Davis were omitted from the obituary run in Monday;s Current-Argus. They are Jeff Davis of Sweetwater, Texas, and J.B. Davis of Carlsbad.
