OBIT: The Paris News, Tuesday, December 19, 2000 --SULPHUR SPRINGS - Juanita Stidham, 69, of Sulphur Springs died at 6 a.m. Monday, Dec. 18, 2000 in Post Oaks Spring Season, Sherman, following an extended illness. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, in West Oaks Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Nan Davis officiating. Private interment is planned. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Stidham was born in Red River County to Sidney O. and Edith Embree Hall. She was a retired longtime employee of H.D. Lee Manufacturing Co. and had resided in Sulphur Springs since 1999. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Winfield. She married Robert Windsor Stidham Jan. 21, 1950, in Annona. He died Nov. 15, 2000. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Sandy Stidham of Sulphur Springs; a daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Sonny Thompson of Paris; a brother, John Hall of Bogata; seven sisters, Evelyn McCulloch of Clarksville; Shirley Pope of San Antonio, Beth Turner of Richardson, Lowayne Coleman of Dallas; Inez Driggers of Bennettsville, S.C., Dorothy Nash of Willingsboro, N.J., and Virginia Hansen of Lamesa, Calif.; three grandchildren, Chad Bronson, Holli-Von Bronson and Coleen Stidham. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and a sister. Memorials may be made to Capital Fund of First United Methodist Church, 201 Church St., Sulphur Springs, 75482 or to the SSISD Special Education Fund, or to the American Diabetes Association. Pallbearers will be Larry Blount, Don Worsham, James Shumate, Butch Adams, Danny Rhea, and Russell Van Bibber. Honorary bearers will be Sulphur Springs Police Department, Jessie and Tommy Shumate, Wayne Pipkins, and Leonard Stout.
