Amanda Jane Lakey Cody was born 01 November 1869 in McDowell, North Carolina to Perry James Owensby & Saraphina Josephine Lakey. She married James Madison Cody 05 October 1888 in Cocke County Tennessee. She is the mother to Cephus Leander, Sockey [sic] Myrtle, Jacob Edward & Garfield.
