Bio
Ned Taylor Stripling was born April 18, 1922, to Robert Clarence Taylor and Linnie Alma Lilly Taylor in Joaquin, Shelby County, Texas. She died on February 7th, 2005, at the age of 82 in Nacogdoches County, Texas. Ned graduated Nacogdoches High School in 1939. She married M. M. " Mack" Stripling in Nacogdoches immediately following World War II. Her husband, Mack Stripling, survives her, as do her children, Craig Stripling and Jody Stripling McLean. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Wendy Stripling; son in law, Dr. Michael McLean; grandson, Sam Stripling; granddaughter, Morgan Elisabeth McLean; sister, Wynne Taylor Dickerson; sisters-in-law, Jane Stripling Young Gribble and Elisabeth Stripling Crawford; nieces, Mary Stripling Duncan, Lynda Young Pool and Nancy Crawford McEwen; and nephews, Jack Dickerson, Bill Stripling, John Stripling Young and Sam Stripling Crawford. Ned worked at Stripling's Drugstore as a teenager and young adult. She was a former member of the Rotary Anns and Heritage Club and was a longtime member of her ladies' " sewing" club and " coffee drinkers" club. She was an avid antiques collector, and she loved to organize garage and estate sales. Ned especially loved little children. Her memory as to people's names, dates and words of poems was impressive. She was an excellent cook of " country food," an art she learned from her mother. Ned was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Nacogdoches. She was a caring and loving wife and mother and a selfless friend who will certainly be missed by family and friends. There will be a graveside service at 11 a.m. today in Oak Grove Cemetery in Nacogdoches conducted by Dr. Allen Reed. Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
