Obituary in Lufkin Daily News, January 21, 1972 Services for Mrs. Minnie C. Key, 86, of Groves, Tx., mother of the late Rev. Coy John Key, who pastored Baptist churches in Redland, Lufkin and Herty are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday in the Redland Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Haley officiating and burial following in Walker Cemetery. Mrs. Key was born May 2, 1885 in Leesville, La. and died Thursday in a Woodville hospital following a brief illness. She was a native of Leesville and resided there most of her life. She was a retired school teacher, a member of the Louisiana Retired Teachers Association, the National Retired Teachers Association, and taught first grade in Louisiana for 32 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Port Arthur.
