Bio

Company F 43rd Georgia Infantry CSA John C. Loden's widow, Elizabeth P. Bird Loden filed for a Confederate Pension in Hall Co, Georgia. Widow's statement on pension application "taken sick with measles contracted in the Army at Knoxville, Tennessee, was sent to the Empire Hospital in Atlanta where he died on the 15th day of May 1862; that she arrived at the hospital a few minutes after his death and brought his remains to Gainesville and buried him there.
