Mr. James A. Metcalf, age 67 of Corsicana, passed away on Monday, December 13, 2010 at his home. He was born October 8, 1943 in Goldsboro, North Carolina to Geraldine Fay and Albert Ray Metcalf. Mr. Metcalf was a long time resident of Corsicana and worked for Dr. Pepper for over 25 years. He was a very private person who loved his family and friends. He enjoyed going fishing, traveling, dancing and going garage sale shopping, and had an extensive soda-water bottle collection. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Joyce Metcalf. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Virginia Metcalf; daughter, Bobbie Lewis and husband John; sons, Michael Elkins and wife Kim, Albert Elkins and wife Becky, Ted Holifield, Jonnie Holifield, and Cecil Holifield; brother, Robert Metcalf and wife Candice; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be at 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Corley Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 17, 2010 at Corley Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Chuck Bentjen of Beatrice, Nebraska officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Tommy Metcalf, Kyle Metcalf, Robert Ortiz, Tim Carmichael, Johnny Carmichael, Jr., and Jeff Lewis. Honorary pallbearers are John Lewis, Allen Fortner, and Joe Ross. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cedar Lake at 625 N. Main St., Corsicana, Texas 75110
