Bertis Spruell Steward , 95, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, in Waynesboro, MS. She was born on August 29, 1920, to the late Clayborn Cooley, Sr. and Della (Martin) Cooley in Louisiana. She is a member of First Baptist Church of Magee. She is survived by two daughters ; Evelon Beard (Herky), Wanda Rogers (Haskel); one step-daughter , Tara Burcham; five grandchildren , Amanda Evans, Larry Spruell, Jr., Brent Beard, Mark Beard, Blake Rogers and six great-grandchildren. Along with her parents , she was preceded in death by her first husband , Mr. Avit C. Spruell; second husband , Mr. Samuel F. Steward and son , Larry Spruell Sr. Visitation will be Friday, April 1, 2016, at Tutor Funeral Home in Magee, MS. from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Services will be on Saturday, April 2, at 10:00 a.m., in the chapel of the funeral home. Final resting place will follow at Magee City Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted with the care of Tutor Funeral Home of Magee.
