Bio
Koerner, Leo Leo Herman Koerner, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend was called to heaven on December 9, 2010. Leo was born September 27, 1921 in Pilot Point, Texas. He served our county in the Navy from 1942 until 1982, where he served active duty through 1955; retiring as Chief Petty Officer USNR in 1982. He married the love of his life, Mary Ann, on April 14, 1956. He also retired from the US Postal Service. Leo and Mary Ann had six beautiful children who loved him dearly: Keith, Karen, Karla, Kerry, Kristy and Kevin. They had 18 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. In addition, Leo is survived by his sister, Agnes McDonald and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Christopher and Martha; brothers, Emil and Frank; and sister, Mary. Leo was an avid poker and domino player who enjoyed spending time with his buddies at the VFW. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor and endless jokes. He had been a member of the St. Pius X Men's Club and the Over 55 Club for many years. The family wishes to thank all our wonderful friends for their love and support.
