Services for George W. Truitt Dixon, 87, of Lufkin, were held June 8, 2001 in the Gipson-Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Garden of Mamories Memorial Park. Mr. Dixon was the son of Blanche Josey Poskey and N. B. Dixon, Sr. He was a retired recovery room supervisor for Southland/Champion Paper Mill, following 33 years of service. He served his country in the U.S. Army's 1st Calvary Division during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of the Clawson Baptist Church and had been a resident of Angelina County all his life. Survivors: Wife, Wilmalene Dixon; Son and daughter-in-law, Truitt Jr. and Judy Dixon; Grandchildren; -Truitt III and Nancy Dixon, -Steve M.
