Bio

Carl V. Self, 93, of Throckmorton was a longlong resident. He had been employed as a cowboy by the R.A. Brown Ranch from 1931-1961 when he retired. He and his brother, Truett Self, were awarded the Trailblazer Award at the Ranch Roundup at Wichita Falls in 1993. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He married Ola E. Garvin in 1927 at Seymour. She preceded him in death. He married Mae Oldham Self in 1979. She preceded him in death. Survived by one daughter - Dean Cuba; three sisters - Olivia Self, Maurine Pate, Minnie Lee Brown; two brothers - Eddie Self and Truett Self; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
