Bio

The obituary for Mrs. Margaret Jane Siler stated that she had died at the Mattoon Hospital, Apr. 7, 1907. Elder R. Layton conducted funeral and burial services at Sand Creek church. Mrs. Siler, nee Womack, was born near the old coal shaft bridge, being age 55. She had moved to Mattoon to be near her children. Surviving were her aged parents who resided at Findlay; four sons, John, Albert, Charles and Fred; and two daughters, Mrs. Belle [John] Christy and Lucy Siler, all of Mattoon.
