Bio

Roy Holliday, 64, of Hilltop Lakes in Leon County, a native of De Leon, died at his home last Thursday. Funeral was held Friday at 4 p.m. in the First Baptist Church in Normangee. The Rev. Bill Walters, pastor, officiated. Burial was in Simpson Cemetery in Kokomo community. Mr. Holliday was a licensed Baptist minister and a retired school teacher. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Normangee. Mr. Holliday was born Feb. 14, 1909, in De Leon and moved with his parents, the late Daniel Polk and Selena Holliday, to the Kokomo community near Gorman at the age of 3. He married Ruth Miller in 1932 in Oklahoma. She died in 1939. He married Clementine Smith in Gorman in 1940. Survivors are his wife of the home; two sons, Daniel Kenneth Holliday and Gregory Smith Holliday, both of Houston; two brothers, L. D. of Gorman and W. D. (Bill) of Woodson; one sister, Perlene Dickens of Palmdale, Calif.; three grandchildren. One brother, Aubrey, preceded him in death in 1958.
