Bio
Archie L. Bennett, 47, Peach Tree Lane, RD 1 Boiling Springs, died Thursday morning in Carlisle Hospital. He was born October 26, 1927, in Alliquippa, a son of Mrs. May Perrin Bennett, RD 2 Everett and the late Homer Bennett. He was employed as a traffic manager by United Telephone Co. and was a veteran of World War II having served in the navy. He was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, the Men's Class of the Sunday School and church choir. A 1946 graduate of Everett High School, he was a member of Everett Lodge 524 F&AM. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ruth Bussard Bennett; a son, Richard L. Bennett, at home; a daughter, Beverly A. Bennett, at home; and a brother, Carmen Bennett, RD 1 Everett. The funeral service will be held Saturday at 3:30 p.m. the G. Book Roth Funeral Home, Walnut Bottom Road at Belvedere Street. The Rev. Owen H. Walter, his pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Friday evening at the funeral home where a Masonic Service will be conducted at 8:30 p.m. by Cumberland Star Lodge 197 F&AM.
