Husband of Virginia Mae Kallus Services for Robert J. Kallus, 83, of La Grange were held Feb. 20 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Grange with Monsignor Harry Mazurkiewicz officiating. Burial followed at La Grange City Cemetery in La Grange. Kallus died Feb. 17 in Austin. He was born on May 22, 1919, in West, the son of Joseph and Bozena Pastusek Kallus. Kallus was united in marriage with Virginia M. Foerster on Dec. 8, 1942, in La Grange. He was a manager for Dopslauf Holdings, formerly owned and operated a Humble Service Station, had a candy route for 15 years, worked for Koenig Funeral Home and United Gas Company and was affiliated with Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Kallus was a member of La Grange Sons of Hermann Lodge No. 8 and Chromcik Council No. 2574 Knights of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lillian Kallus Giesber. Survivors include his wife; two daughters and son-in-law, Karen E. and Leroy Peck and Marie D. Kallus, all of Houston; and two grandsons, Jason and Terence Peck, both of Houston.
