He died in a drag racing accident at Yello Belly Drag Strip. Obituary David L. Rogers SULPHUR SPRINGS Funeral services for David Lee Rogers, 16, of Grand Prairie and a former resident o f Sulphur Springs, are set for 2 p. m. Wednesday in the chapel of Murray-Orwoski Funeral Home. The Rev. K. C. Holcomb and James Edge will officiate. Burial will be in North Hopkins Cemetery under the direction o f Murray-Orwoski Funeral Home. Rogers was killed Saturday night on a Grand Prairie dragstrip. He was maintenance man for West-Lace Village Apartments in Grand Prairie and was a member of the Rockdale Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Denice Whittle Rogers; one son, Danny Rogers of Grand Prairie; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Avery Rogers of Sulphur Springs; and three brothers, Douglas Rogers of Grand Prairie, and Ronnie Rogers and Paul Rogers, both of Sulphur Springs. Pallbearers will be Gary Clodfelter, Joe Wilson, Gene Whittle, Jack Whittle, Charles Merchant and Tommy Levington.
