BELTON — Services for Leta Ernestine Rumfield, 83, of Temple will be 11 a.m. Monday at Heartfield Funeral Home in Belton with the Rev. Sam Calloway officiating. Burial will follow in Temple Garden of Memories. Mrs. Rumfield died Thursday, Nov. 11, in a Hewitt care center. She was born on Aug. 22, 1927, to Gideon Sr. and Minnie Lyda in Nacogdoches, La. On Aug. 13, 1945, she married Shelby H. Rumfield in Belton. She was a homemaker and an artist. She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 28, 2003. Survivors include two sons, Shelby Rumfield Jr. of Temple and Rickie Rumfield of Palestine; a daughter, Kay Rumfield of Temple; a brother, Gideon "Sonny" Lyda of Belton; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
