Bio

From the December 4, 2001 edition of the Pueblo Chieftain: "Mary T. (Townley-Riggs) Anderson passed away on Nov. 30, 2001, in Englewood. She was born of March 18, 1909, in Greenwood, Ark, and moved to Pueblo in 1927. Preceded in death by husbands, Everett V.E. Riggs and Fred G. Anderson; daughter, Claralyn L.A. Riggs; and son, David Lee Riggs. Survived by daughter, Dolores (Burle) Fitzsimmons of Littleton; stepdaughters, Doris (Orville) Hathaway of Monte Vista, Althea (Lance) Pratt of Pueblo; and daughter-in-law, Betty Riggs of Carmel, Ind. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. From 1936 to 1962 she ran and operated Mary's Beauty Shop in Pueblo. Mary's life was devoted to her family. She will always be lovingly remembered. Visitation, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, with funeral service to follow at 2 p.m., T.G. McCarthy Rose Chapel. Interment, Roselawn Cemetery."
