Minnie Lee Howard, 92, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Coulter Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter St. Minnie was born Dec. 6, 1917, in Brownfield to Lee and Della Popham. She moved to Lipscomb County as a child, graduating from Canadian High School and later graduating from West Texas State. She moved to Amarillo in 1944. She married Alton W. Howard in 1946. Minnie was a homemaker and a member of Paramount Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bill Popham; her husband, Alton Howard; and a son, Curtis Howard. Survivors include a daughter, Denise Betancourt of Amarillo; and a granddaughter, Shelby Betancourt. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
