Birth and death dates and locations, mother's maiden name Bouse, from California Death Index Records. ~~~ Chico Record, Tuesday Morning, January 6, 1942, pg 5 col 5: Gladys Drobney [sic] Rites Jan. 7. Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys Adele Drobny, who died at a Chico hospital Sunday following a short illness, will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Nugent Funeral Home. Rev. Harris Pillsbury of the Bidwell Memorial Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will follow in the Masonic plot of Chico Cemetery. Born in Hinch, Mo., February 21, 1908, she spent her early childhood in Oregon. A graduate of the high school in Springfield, Ore., she came to Chico with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Bauer, and made her home on Sacramento Avenue. She is a graduate of Chico State College with the class of 1927 and taught for three years in the Live Oak School. She leaves her husband, Henry Drobny; two children, Dorothy Ann Dobney and Helen Louise Drobney; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Bauer, all of Chico, and two brothers, Fred Bauer of Jasper, Ore., and John Bauer of Homestead, Okla. ~~~ 33-year-old Gladys Adele Drobny was interred, per the Chico Cemetery Association Records, in the plot noted, on January 7, 1942.
