Johnie B. Glasscock, 85, of Odessa, passed away Monday, July 25, 2005, at Odessa Regency Hospital. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Frank Wilson Chapel with Mac Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at RoseHill Cemetery. Johnie B. Glasscock was born July 9, 1920, in Smith County to Robert L. Glasscock and Lorine Wheat. He married Madeline Douthit in Odessa on June 6, 1941. He served his country in the signal corps for the U.S. Air Corps. He was a maintenance foreman for the Texas Highway Department and in his spare time, he loved to hunt and fish. Johnie's greatest joy was spending time with his family. Johnie is survived by his wife, Madeline Glasscock of Odessa; two sons, Johnny L. Glasscock of Odessa, and Robert Charles Glasscock of Springfield, New Hampshire; two brothers, Willie Joe Glasscock of Lancaster, and Wayne Glasscock of Odessa; sisters, Annie Pearl Barker of Gilmer, Martha Lee Smith of Fort Worth, Opel Mae Kittner of Oklahoma, and Maggie Glasscock of California; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Services are entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
