From The Wolbach Messenger, March 20, 1969, page 1, transcribed by Linda Berney: Barbara Cutler Hansen, the daughter of Francis and Mary Cutler was born February 19, 1888 at Wolbach. She died on Sunday, March 16, 1969 at Parkside Homes in Grand Island. She received her education and grew to womanhood in the Wolbach community. She was united in marriage to Peder Hansen in 1905 at Wolbach. The couple operated a mercantile store here until 1935 when they moved to Ericson. Following Mr. Hansen's death in January of 1949, Mrs. Hansen returned to Wolbach to reside. In later years, she resided in Parkside Homes at Grand Island. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and a member of the Royal Neighbors and the Rebekah lodge of Wolbach. Surviving are four daughters, Miss Victoria Hansen and Mrs. Margaret Banks, both of Grand Island, Mrs. Alice Kasselder of Ericson and Mrs. Doris Wooley of Omaha; three sons, Norman J. of Scottsbluff, John C. of Belmont, California and Carl F. of Washington, D. C.; one sister, Mrs. Polly Marcoe of Wolbach, twenty two grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband, an infant daughter, her parents and an infant sister.
