Bio

Mary P. Duley, 74, of Tuscola, formerly of Iredell, died Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, in an Abilene care facility. Private graveside services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, at Meridian Cemetery with Rev. Richard Creech officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, at Lawson Funeral Home Chapel. Mary Alice was born in Iredell, Texas, to the late Clyde C. and Nettie Phillips. She graduated from Meridian High School in 1954 and that same year, married Curtis Baxter. She worked for Kirby West in Andrews, Texas for 25 years and retired as Human Resources Director. In 1980, she married John Duley of Andrews, Texas. Mary loved gardening, cooking, camping, and fishing with the grandkids and family. She was involved with many charities and church organizations over the years. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Curtis Baxter, in 1968; second husband, John Duley, in 2003; daughter, Holly; and a brother, Conrad. She is survived by sons, Mark Duley and wife, Audrey, of Tuscola, Matt Duley and wife, Estella, of Knox City, Sam Duley and wife, Dina, of West Columbia and Clyde Duley and wife, Heather, of Minneaplis, Minnesota; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Norma, of Lovington, New Mexico; as well as numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and other relatives.
