Lawrence F. Damratowski, 74, of Albion died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010, at the Golden Living Center in Columbus. Lawrence was born June 2, 1936, at Loup City, to Felix and Elizabeth (Stenka) Damratowski. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille, on Nov. 16, 2004. Lawrence is survivors by: sister, Loretta Paprocki of St. Edward and a host of friends and relatives. Lawrence attended Sherman County schools District No. 38 southwest of Loup City. He attended fifth and sixth grades at parochial school in town, and completed seventh and eighth grades back in country school. Lawrence farmed in the Loup City area until the early 1950s when he moved to a farm south of Albion. Lawrence married Lucille Betty Stanton in April 1988 at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Hastings. They farmed near Albion until retiring in 1993 when they moved to Grand Island. Lawrence returned to Albion in 2005 and in July 2007 entered Golden Living Center in Columbus. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Carl; and sister, Regina. Published in The Grand Island Independent on 10/31/2010
