Saturday, February 24, 2007 Ervin Guy Adair: 1918-2007 Ervin Guy Adair, age 89, a resident of Laurel Meadows, Belen, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 22. He was born in Monticello, Utah, to Leroy Adair and Martha Ann Black Adair. Ervin proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and retired from Fort Wingate Army Depot in Gallup, New Mexico after more than 30 years of service. Ervin lived most of his life in McKinley County, New Mexico. "We all respected and loved him very much, and he will always be remembered as a loving and generous man who will be waiting for us in heaven," his family wrote. Ervin was preceed in Death by his wife of 48 years, Veralda Gallagher Adair, his second wife, Lessie Wright Adair, his parents Leroy and Martha (Mattie)Adair, one son Ervin Gary Adair, Granddaughters, Brenda Kay Ricks and Candi Pardon Peterson, Three sisters, Lola Merrill, Beatrice Gifford and Lucille Mowrer, and one brother Kenneth Adair. He was survived by two daughters Faun Adair Ricks and Theda Pardon,five Grand children, numerous Great Grandchildren, brother Donald Adair and his wife Gertrude, One sister Velara(Vid)McGee, her husband Richard. A public viewing was held at the Romero Funeral Home Chapel, on Saturday, Feb. 24, at 12:30 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. Interment took place at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Gallup on Monday, Feb. 26, at 10 a.m. Romero Funeral Home, 609 N. Main St., Belen.
