Anna K. Weis was born to John Weis Sr. and Helen Krick Weis on October 12, 1898, at Shickley, and passed away may 15, 1988, at the Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva, at the age of 89 years, 7 months and 3 days. She was one of eight children in the family. Anna was baptized in the Catholic faith as an infant and remained a devout Catholic throughout her life. She made her home with her sister, Clara, and brother, Leo. She helped raise her nephew, Francis Kamler, after the death of his mother. She graduated from the Geneva High School in the Class of 1918. She attended Nazareth Academy, Concordia, Ks., graduating June 1, 1920. She was employed at the Fillmore County Courthouse and worked for a number of years for the Eller Co. in Geneva. She was active in St. Joseph's Altar Society for many years. Anna was preceded in death by her sisters, Clara Weis and Kathryn Fixemer; brothers, John R., Nicholas, Joseph and Peter Weis. She is survived by her brother, Leo, of Geneva, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted from St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Geneva on Wednesday, May 18, with the Rev. Walter Banach officiating. Suzanne Heath accompanied the St. Joseph's choir. Pallbearers were Bob Engle, Jerry Engle, Jerry Fixemer, Dick Fixemer, Jim Reinsch and Robert Reinsch.
