Bio

John was born to Johann and Angela (Hack) Gard in 1847 in Germany. He had 9 brothers and sisters (Peter, Elizabeth, Charles, Nicolas, Catherine, Joseph, Jacob, Adam, and Mary). John married Louise Schubert on September 5, 1872. The couple were parents to 11 children including Lily (Ziegler), Ella (Larson), Homer, Edward, Edwin, Wilber, Richard, and Esther (Wurst). His brother,Joseph Gard, is also buried in Leland Cemetery.
