Julia A. Fontenot was born December 20, 1909 in Leesville, Louisiana to James Skinner and Lula Cooper Skinner and died April 19, 2001 at Houston Specialty Hospital in Houston. A longtime resident of Hardin, she was a retired homemaker. She previously had worked as a short-order cook and farmer. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gradening and watching westerns. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Roy Cooper; her second husband, William Fontenot; three sisters, Eva, Mittie, and Lillian; and one brother, Clayton. Survivors include her son, James L. Cooepr an dhis wife, Marti Sognier, of Houston; daughter, Marie Smith and her husband, Leon, of Indianapolis, Indiana; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
