Mamie Ruth Shofner Mamie Ruth was born October 16, 1931, in San Augustine County, Texas, to Mamie Elizabeth (Ware) Taylor and Ottis Taylor. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter in San Augustine; she was employed as a Teachers Aide for the San Augustine Independent School District, and a member of the Antioch Church of Christ in San Augustine County. Graveside Funeral Services will be held on 2:00 p.m. Friday, at October 22, 2010, at the Antioch Cemetery in San Augustine County, Texas. Alton Shaw will officiate. Her survivors include: Son and Daughter-in-law: Walter (Herman) Shofner and his wife, Kerri of San Augustine; Granddaughter and husband: Heather Nicole Smith and her husband, Justin of Marshall; Sisters-In-Law: Audrey Taylor of San Augustine, and Catherine Thomas of Carrol1ton, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William P. (Bunk) Shofner.
