Bio
Lyvon Gill Gatch, widow of Melvin H. Gatch, of Charleston, entered into eternal rest on the evening of October 18, 2010. Born January 13, 1922, in Auburn, MS, she was the daughter of Joseph Cager Gill and Anne Montgomery Gill. Mrs. Gatch graduated from medical college in Jackson, Mississippi. She began a nursing career at the Medical University in Charleston, SC, where she worked for 5 years in Pediatrics. She served as head nurse for Dr. Eleas Lawandales' pediatric practice for 26 years, touching the lives of two generations. She was a devoted wife, mother, and Nana, providing a legacy of strength of character and integrity. She is survived by two sons, Harry Gatch and wife Margaret Gatch of Summerville, SC, and Larry Gatch of Charleston; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers, Ernest Gill and Holmes Gill. Interment: Live Oak Memorial Gardens.
