Cecilia V. Zoucha, 82, of Central City died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010, at Nye Legacy in Fremont. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Central City, with Msgr. Nelson Newman officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery near Clarks. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church, with a vigil service at 7. Solt Funeral Home of Central City is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Zoucha was born on Dec. 2, 1927, in Fullerton to Leo and Belle (Micek) Czapla. She was preceded in death by her husband, Adrian Zoucha, on April 17, 1994. Survivors of the immediate family include a son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Dianna Zoucha of Elkhorn; two daughters and sons-in-law, Deb and Dean Beck of Clarks and Jan and Mark Jensen of Omaha; and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Steve Czapla and Larry and Connie Czapla, all of Omaha. Also left to cherish her memory are grandchildren, Ryan Beck and fiance, Nicole Johnson, Luke Jensen, Katie Fortune and husband, Nick, Nick Zoucha; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She attended Fullerton Schools, graduating in 1945 from Fullerton High School, and later taught in rural country schools in central Nebraska. On Feb. 14, 1952, Cecilia and Adrian Zoucha were united in marriage in Grand Island. They farmed in the Clarks area until 1959. They then moved to Central City where they owned and operated the gasoline station and cafe "Adrian's One Stop". Cecilia was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. After retirement, in 1994, she moved into Central City and became active in volunteer work with the hospital, the senior center, Hospital Thrift Shop, and the Red Cross. Cecilia enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, solving cross-word puzzles and playing "Kings in the Corner" card games with her friends. She moved to Orchard Gardens in Valley in 2006 and later to Nye Legacy in Fremont. Cecilia was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Eleanor Voichahoski and Clara Czapla; and daughter-in-law, Kris Zoucha. Memorials are suggested to the Central City Senior Center.
