Appeared originally in the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal, 11/28/2007 HOUSTON - Marguerite Seale Alford, 93, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. She was born April 13, 1914, in Calhoun County. She had lived at Traceway-Mitchell Center in Tupelo for the past three years. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Houston. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Funeral Home in Houston with Bro. Terry Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in Houston Cemetery. Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Ladner and Jim of Madison, Betty Neilson and Charlie of Tupelo, and Sue Boyd and Randy of Tupelo; three sons, Curtis Alford and Adelle of Starkville, Bill Alford and Connie of Tallahassee, Fla., and Mitch Alford and Sherrie of Houston; 16 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Alford; her parents, Claude M. and Maggie Rickman Seale; and a brother, Charles Seale. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sanctuary Hospice House, P.O. Box 2177, Tupelo, MS 38803; or First Baptist Church Building Fund, 201 W. Madison St., Houston, MS 38851.
