GIBBS Robert John Gibbs, 41, of Chetopa, Kan., died at 2:10 a.m. Sunday at University hospital, Oklahoma city, following a two-and-a-half-month illness. Born Nov. 21, 1926,, in Wichita, Mr. Gibbs moved to Chetopa form Waynesville, Mo., two years ago. He served in the Marine Corps in World War II and was a member of the Methodist church of Fredonia, Kan., the Shannon Masonic Lodge of South Carolina, Miami Elks lodge and the Miami Veterans of Foreign Wars. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lillian Gibs, and two sons, R. J. Gibbs and Joe Gibbs, all of the home; four sisters, Mrs. Mabel Detwiller of Indianapolis, Ind., Mrs. Ruby Beaver of Downey, Calif., Mrs. Betty Linnebur of Edwards, Calif., and Mrs. Donna Faye Trudell of Wichita, and a brother, William Gibbs, of Wichita. Funeral arrangements are pending a the Thomas funeral home of Welch.
