Ruth Goodwin Ruth Williams Goodwin of Greenville died Tuesday morning at Greenville Health & Rehabilitation. There is a graveside service at 1 p.m. Thursday at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas with Dr. Jeff Smith officiating. Born Aug. 8, 1905 in Ellis County, she was the daughter of Wiley Flake Williams and Dorthula Loretta Floyd Williams. She and Herman Lowell Goodwin were married in Ellis County on Dec. 23, 1924. She was a Baptist. Mrs. Goodwin is survived by two sons, Billy Joe Goodwin of Lindale and Marvin Goodwin of Royse City; two daughters, Robbie Nelle Cook of Ennis and Helen Fletcher of Greenville; a brother, Harcey Williams of Meridian; a sister, Lois Browning of Afton, Okla.; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in March 1998; brothers Charlie Franklin Williams in 1971, Earl Flake Williams in 1981 and Robert Benson Williams; sisters Hazel Wooldridge in 1972 and Addie Burkett in 1927 and two grandchildren. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice. Visitation is from 3 to 4 p.m. today at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
