Bio

Mrs. Myrna Joy Taylor, 73, passed away Friday, October 8, 2010 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. Mrs. Taylor was born in Dallas, Texas and lived most of her life there before retiring as a telephone operator and moving to Jonesboro with her husband Jerry in 1994. She had also worked for Bloomingdale's Department Store and Sears in Dallas. She was a member of the Valley View Church of Christ. She enjoyed painting, crafts, travel and playing cards with her friends. Survivors include her husband, Jerry Taylor, three sons, Geary Land (Elizabeth) of Bedford, TX, Tom Land (Lania) of Prosper, TX, Kevin Land of Carrollton, TX; four step-children, Tim Taylor (Debbie) of Denton, TX, Tawnya Hurley (Jeff) of Benton, AR, Todd Taylor (Dianna) of Weatherford, TX and Travis Taylor of Delaware, OK; one sister, Margaret Lindley of Ovilla, TX; one brother, Gene Hill of Little Elm, TX; eleven grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon Hampton Hill and Minna Sosebee Hill. A celebration of her life was held at the Valley View Church of Christ with David Gibson and Michael Meredith officiating. Burial was in the Old Enterprise Cemetery under the direction of the Gregg Funeral Home of Jonesboro. Honored to serve as pallbearers were; Brian Land, Kellen Land, Dewel Loftis, Casey Land, Corie Slack and Matt Cross. Honorary pallbearers were: Tim Taylor, Todd Taylor, Travis Taylor and Cory Land.
