Bio

The Walters Journal July 15, 1909 and The Walter New Era July 15, 1909 LAWSON, Charles A., age 8 (14) and Will(?) age 6(7), sons of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Lawson, who live 7 miles southwest(SW)of Walters, were drowned in a swimming pool on his place yesterday. They could not swim and a third brother could not save them. They have a brother Willie(?) 10, a sibling 4 and another one 4 months old. The remains were shipped to Altogo, Texas (McKinney) for burial. The above information was taken from pre-1920 Cotton County newspapers. It was extracted by Linda N. Garrison for the Cotton County Obituaries page and published in the September-November 1998, quarterly, 'The Tree Tracers', Vol XXIII, Southwest Okla. Gen. Society, Lawton, OK. Added to this memorial just as it was typed and printed in the quarterly. The ages in parenthese are rather confusing and the name of the surviving brother has to be an error, but no changes were made by Janet Milburn #47529757.
