Bio

Ralph Lindberg, 87, of Fergus Falls, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, at the Minnesota Veterans Home. Ralph was born Oct. 17, 1921, in Vining, to Charles and Ingaborg (Hagen) Lindberg. He attended school at District 283 in Leaf Mountain Township and later worked on area farms. During WWII Ralph served with the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theatre. He returned to the area and farmed with his mother on the family farm in Leaf Mountain Township and later worked as a farm laborer. He also worked at the beet plant in Wahpeton, ND. Ralph made his home in the Clitherall-Battle Lake area until entering the Minnesota Veterans Home in 1998. Ralph was a member of the VFW. He played the violin and enjoyed fishing. He is survived by a sister, Juneice Rostad of Fergus Falls; nephews, Dick, Wayne, Chuch, Ken and Sverre Rostad, Bernard and Jerry Lindberg; nieces, Nancy James, Linda Fleury, Beverly Straeter, Romayne Hamilton, Mary Jean Baird, Roaslie Lindberg, Elaine Irons and Colleen Lindberg; great nephews and nieces and great-great nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Christine Halvorson; brothers, Clarence, Carl, Hilmer and Arthur and brothers-in-law, Kenneth Rostad and Adolph Halvorson.
