Mrs. Abida Hawkins Sutton Funeral services for Abida Hawkins Walton Sutton, on of Pleasanton's oldest citizens, were to be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 4 o'clock from the Hurley Chapel. Mrs. Sutton was 94 years old. J. Alston, Jehovah Witness minister from San Antonio, conducted the rites. Burial was in the Pleasanton City Cemetery. Mrs. Sutton died early Wednesday morning at her home here. Born in Tennessee on March 14, 1862, her life span dated back to early Civil War days. She had been a resident of Pleasanton for the past 37 years. She was preceded in death by her husband LaFayette Fate Sutton; three daughters, Nola Sutton, Lena P. Sutton, and Sollie Sutton Copp; and two sons, John Sutton and Albert Sidney Sutton. Her surviving children include Mrs. Ida Rookard, Stockton, California; Mrs Ola Bradshaw, Vernon, Texas; Mrs. Oma Curl, Pleasanton; Fatie Sutton, Glendale, Arizona; Jeff Sutton, Stockton, California; Frank Sutton, Pleasanton; Role Sutton, Pep, New Mexico; R.D. Sutton, Pleasanton; and O.T. Sutton, Kenedy.
