Ruth Louise Hoelzen Ruth Louise Hoelzen, 88, of Burlington died 5:00 p.m. Monday, October 4, 2010, in Gladstone, IL. Born on January 31, 1922, she was the daughter of Harry Ross and Anna (Acheson) Davis. She married Howard Hoelzen Sr. on May 1, 1942, in St. Louis, MO. He died January 19, 2005. She worked for Sylvania, IAAP, and Witte Drug until her retirement. She was a member of First Christian Church-Disciples of Christ. She loved gardening, cooking and family gatherings, and especially enjoyed the river and sandbar trips. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, Trent and Rick Hoelzen, two brothers and one sister.
