LaVerda Trice, 89, passed away peacefully Monday, Oct. 4, 2010, at a local hospital. Graveside service: 11 a.m. Thursday in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, 5725 Colleyville Blvd., with Chaplain Mark Gleich officiating. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home. LaVerda was born Aug. 9, 1921, in Everman to Lester and Ersie Pylant. She was to be the eldest of four children. She attended Paschal High School and graduated in 1939. LaVerda had four children. She was a 70-year resident of Haltom City and retired from Lockheed Martin. LaVerda was a member of the Haltom City chapter of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking and being with family, and was happiest when she was holding a fishing pole or a grandchild. LaVerda was preceded in death by her daughter, Joyce McMurray; her son, James Cagle Jr.; a grandson, Jeffrey Payne; and a great-grandson, Ricky Harrell. Survivors: She will be remembered by her children, Charlotte Gleghorn and Judy Gilmore; grandchildren, Jill Whittington, Jana Payne, James Cagle III, Leona Gooden, Judy LaVerne Graves, Kelly Robertson, Steven Gleghorn, Mike Gilmore and Dustin Gilmore; and 16 great-grandchildren.
