Bio

Randy L. Herchenbach, 58, of rural Lindsay, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, at his home, of cancer, surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey, with Father Tom Bauwens officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in Humphrey. Visitation will be held from 3-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, with a 3 p.m. Christian Mother rosary and a 7 p.m. scripture service, visitation continuing from 9-10:30 a.m. Wednesday, all at the church. Randy was born April 27, 1952, in Norfolk, to Eugene H. and Deloris A. (Frauendorfer) Herchenbach. He attended St. Bernard School and St. Francis Schools, graduating in 1970. On July 4, 1973, Randy Herchenbach and Sharon R. Chandler were united in marriage at St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey. Randy lived in the Humphrey and St. Bernard communities and worked in the construction of Madison Foods in Madison. He was employed at Klub 81 in Humphrey, a salesman for Beller Backes Implement in Humphrey, farmed and pig production since 1983. He also served on St. Francis Athletic Board and was a current member of the Humphrey Public School Board and a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey He enjoyed classic cars, motorcycles, hunting, and attending sports activities of his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Sharon; son, Bryan (Jenny) Herchenbach, of Lindsay; daughters, Lori (Mike) Brabec, of Columbus, and Jennifer (Jason) Luce, of Aurora, Colo.; grandchildren, Nicole, Trevor, Allison, Kristen, Gavin, Haden, and Henlee; mother, Deloris Herchenbach, of Humphrey; brothers, Jim (Debra) Herchenbach, of Humphrey, and Scott (Jeni) Herchenbach, of Bellevue; sisters, Brenda (Jim) Tubbs, of Columbus, Sue (Russ) Evans, of Columbus, Sheri (Jess) Schure, of Columbus, and Nancy (Steve) Kurtenbach, of Omaha. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Herchenbach, who died Nov. 4, 1983. Memorials are suggested to family choice or donor choice.
