The Howells Journal (Howells, Nebraska) 26 Jul 1935, Fri Page 7 Many From Here Attend Joseph Faltin Funeral Howells friends deeply sympathize with Mrs. William Nemec and the family in the death of her father, Mr. Joseph Faltion, who died at the family home near Dodge on Saturday evening. The deceased was a native of Chystovice, Czechoslovakia, where he was born December 28, 1854, and came to America at the age of 12 years with his parents, who homesteaded on land near Snyder. He lived through the vicissitudes of the early days of the settlers in this part of Nebraska, and had a part in the progress of this section as it developed from prairieland into rich, productive farmlands. On October 20, 1883, he was married to Frances Srb, who, with the two daughters, Mrs. Chas. Vogltance and Mrs. Nemec, and three sons, Frank, Rudolph and Joseph, deeply mourn the passing of a good husband and father. That he enjoyed the high esteem of all was shown by the large attendance, including many from here, at the funeral held on Monday afternoon, with services at the Bohemian National chapel northeast of Dodge.
