George Hale Richardson and Martha Adaline Carpenter married August 1, 1888 in Whitney, Hill County, Texas. They were the parents of: Sarah Isbel Richardson Brame Cora Lee Richardson Bennett Bertie Richardson Moore Maude Richardson Mearse Florence Richardson Walker Dink Richardson Land Nix Anderson George Moody Richardson Pearla May Richardson Preston Gladys Oneida Richardson Mote George was not on the Johnny Reb list in Hunt County, Texas, however his widow did apply for a widow's pension filed 31 Oct. 1930. Pension number 41903. This statement was in this file: "I knew that George Richardson, was a soldier in the confederate army, I was with him at and after the battle of Mansfield. We were on guard duty together. I talked with him then and have talked with him on various occasions since and he is the same man that I knew in the army. George Richardson was in Walkers Division and Dick Waterhouse was his regimental commander. I do not recall the company he was in. At the time we were on duty together we were guarding supplies. I know that Mrs. George Richardson is the wife of the soldier George Richardson." (signature of witness) E. Frazer Sworn to 20 day of Oct, A.D. 1930 In 1907 George H. Richardson moved his family to Mitchell County, Tx. settling in Loraine. George suffered a severe stroke and spent the last several years of his life in a wheelchair. After his death in 1921, Martha Adeline continued to make her home in Loraine. Several of the younger children were still at home. Bertie R. Moore said that the girls all pitched in and worked to help keep things going when they were home. Although their father was in a wheelchair, he could still keep things moving. All of the older children attended school at Plum Creek, in Nolan County. Some of them attended school in Loraine after the move to Mitchell County.
