PEORIA JOURNAL STAR 11-15-2004 PAGE B 4 SPARLAND: Edith E. Griswold, 89, of 305 School Street, died at 5:20 a.m. Sunday, November 14, 2004, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, IL. Born July 1, 1915, in Sparland, IL, to Dova and Anna Belle Davis Hunt, she married Louis Griswold on December 15, 1931, in Sparland, IL. He died June 14, 1974. She also was preceded in death by three sons, Robert, Roger, and Dennis, one infant daughter, one grandson; five brothers, and three sisters. Surviving are one son, Gary (and Shelly) of Lake Wildwood, Varna, IL, 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, one brother, Vernon (and Nora) Hunt of Saugus, CA, and two sisters, Mary Lowe of Peoria, IL, and Virginia (and John) Congrove of Davenport, Iowa. She owned and operated Standard Gas Station, which later became a Phillips 66, in Sparland from 1949 to 1972. She was a member of Lacon-Sparland United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sparland Cemetery. The Rev. Lane Knouse will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon, IL. Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Memorial Chapter of Peoria, IL.
