Ruth Evelyn Turner, age 83, passed away Monday, September 6, 2010, at her home. Born July 1, 1927, in Middlesboro, she was the daughter of the late Ward Chumley and Cora Evans Chumley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Hendrickson; infant son, Mikey Hendrickson; and one sister, Beulah Bryant. Survivors include one son, Alan Hendrickson; five grandchildren, Mark (Aimee) Hendrickson, Michael (Monica) Hendrickson, Misty Hendrickson Gwynn, Will Hendrickson, and Adam Hendrickson; eight great-grandchildren, Hayden, Holden, Hannah, Tre', Autumn, Camden, Logan, and Macie; two sisters, Francis Damron and June Smith; and two brothers, Jack Chumley and Bill (Colleen) Chumley. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, September 9, at the Shumate Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, September 9, at the Shumate Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Harrell presiding. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, September 10, at Yeary's Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Hendrickson, Michael Hendrickson, Will Hendrickson, Adam Hendrickson, Tre' Hendrickson, and Hayden Hendrickson. Shumate Funeral Home is entrusted with all arrangements.
