Bio

Milton J. Spurny, 89 of Van Buren, Arkansas died Sunday, September 19, 2010 at Pointer Trail Health & Rehabilitation in Van Buren, Arkansas. He was retired U.S. Master Chief of the U.S. Navy, as a hospital Corpsman, a veteran of WWII and the Korea War, a 17 year employee of the Civil Service, and a member of the Heritage United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Spurny of Van Buren; three step daughters, Bonnie Sher of Van Buren, Judy Clarke of Salina, Kansas, Shawna Ballenger of Booneville, Missouri; one son, John Spurny of Pensacola, Florida; two step sons, Steven Ellis of North Park, Florida, Brent Ellis of Pride, Tennessee; twelve grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday, October 18, 2010 at the U.S. National Pavillon with Rev. Wes Hillard officiating. Burial was at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith.
