Bio

Gerald D. Meyer, 91, of Chillicothe died Tuesday, April 9, 2002, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. Born Nov. 29, 1910, in Chillicothe to John and Bessie Brockway Meyer, he married Bessie Reed on Aug. 15, 1940, in Burlington, Iowa. She survives. Also surviving are one son, Howard (and Paula) of Chillicothe; and one brother, Walter of Chillicothe. He was preceded in death by one sister. He was a World War II Army veteran. A boilermaker, he worked out of Boilermakers Local 60 in Morton for 60 years before retiring in 1975. Burial will be in Chillicothe City Cemetery.
