from "The Reavis Family in America since 1700" by Marie Reavis Hall Edward was born Jan. 23, 1779 in Surry County, North Carolina, but grew up in Rutherford County. There in 1805, he married Elizabeth Doyle, his cousin. Elizabeth was the daughter of James Doyle. By occupation a farmer and mehanic, he also preached regularly in the Baptist Church. In 1823, he settled in Franklin County Tennessee and then about 1884 he moved to Taladego County Alabama, where he died July 3, 1846. His widow accompanied by other members of the family in 1851 moved to Leon County Texas and there died on June 1854, aged 73 years. Child of Edward Reavis and Elizabeth. Dr. William A. REAVIS was born 1807 in North Carolina, and died 1866 in Hill Co., Texas. He was buried 1866 in Hill Co., Tx.. He married Julina HINKLE in Alabama. She was born 1810 in North Carolina, and died 1892 in Texas. Children of Dr. William A. REAVIS and Julina HINKLE are: i. James Henderson REAVIS was born 1830, and died 1837. ii. Wilson Overton REAVIS was born 1832 in Tennessee, iii. William Andrew REAVIS was born Feb 1834 in Lincoln Co., Tenn., and died Jan 1911 in Hill Co., Tx.. iv. Samuel Albertea REAVIS was born 1836 in Tennessee, and died 1887. v. Martha Margaret REAVIS was born 1838 in Tennessee, and died 1892. vi. Mary Elizabeth REAVIS was born 1840 in Tennessee, and died 1906. vii. Julia Chipley REAVIS was born 4 Feb 1842 in Talladago Co., Alabama (Tennessee), and died 20 May 1918 in Hillsboro, Tx. viii. Sarah Missouri REAVIS was born 1844 in South Carolina, and died 1851. ix. Edward Bryant REAVIS was born 1844 in Alabama, and died 1916. x. Susan Watson REAVIS was born 1846 in Tennessee, and died 1896. xi. Alabama Bird REAVIS was born 1849 in Tennessee, and died 1885. Edwards wife Elizabeth Doyle is buried in Leon County Texas, she died June 1, 1854 age 73years.
